Caught this post via Barry's blog, and I think you nailed a lot of very salient points here. For one, the outsourcing trend will begin to hit jobs like mid-level management and tax accountants very shortly, if it hasn't already. What we often fail to realize is the extent to which these trends are presently occurring.
I also see that you began to touch on elements of motivation and engagement in the latter half of the piece as well. There may not be a more pressing need in American education than to find ways to make what we do in the classroom relevant enough to stem the almost 30% dropout rate we have from high schools in this nation.
